Admission requirements vary by program. Check the web page of your program of choice. This information can also be found in the current Program Guide (viewbook).

For quota programs (where space is limited), the deadline is February 1. All other programs remain open until they reach maximum enrolment or until classes begin. The Ontario College Application Service (OCAS) maintains program status up to the first week of the phase. For additional information, see the “Admissions and Registration Process” section under the Office of Admissions and Registrar.
OCAS stands for Ontario College Application Service. It is the Ontario Public College Application Service (OCAS). All Canadian applicants must go through this agency to apply to one of the 24 colleges in the province. The website for OCAS/SACO is www.collegesdelontario.ca.
All Canadian applicants must apply to OCAS. International applicants should instead visit the International Application Office to learn about the international admission process.
If you are a Canadian applicant from outside Ontario, the Admissions and Registrar’s Office will assess the recognized equivalencies for your province or territory. See the « Admissions and Registration Process” under the Office of Admissions and Registrar for additional information.
For applicants who are currently attending high school in Ontario, the school board will forward your transcript as proof of your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Applicants who attended high school outside of Ontario must send in their transcripts. Collège Boréal has already evaluated and established course equivalencies between Ontario and Quebec or New Brunswick. No. Ontario high school courses at the pre-college or pre-university level, or their equivalent, are required for eligibility to a program at Collège Boréal. However, if you do not meet the admission criteria, there are several options available to you! Visit the Adult Development Center page for more information.
Admission to some programs is restricted, meaning that the number of places is limited since the program is in very high demand. See the “Admission and Registration Process” section under the Office of Admissions and Registrar for additional information.

- Veterinary Care Technology (VETQ)
- Medical Radiation Technology (MRT)
If you applied before February 1, your application will receive the same consideration as other applicants. Your scores will determine whether you are accepted or placed on a waiting list. International students are eligible to apply to all of our programs except those offered entirely online. However, some of our programs have quotas – priority must be given to applicants from Ontario, then to applicants from other Canadian provinces and territories, and finally to international applicants. This means that you are accepted with conditions. You must therefore ensure that you meet the requirements of your program and the conditions listed before the start of classes. The offer will be withdrawn if you fail to meet these requirements or conditions (e.g., proof of study VISA, proof of citizenship, high school diploma, transcript, proof of prerequisites, etc.). Carefully read the instructions in the Admissions and Registrar’s Office and contact them for any follow-up as soon as possible.
Collège Boréal offers all the upgrading courses necessary to be admitted to a college program. This program is free to adults 19 years of age and older. To register for the upgrading courses, visit the Adult Development Center for more information.
Once registered, send an email to admission@collegeboreal.ca (domestic applicants) or international@collegeboreal.ca (international applicants) to notify us that you have begun the process to meet the admission requirements. If you complete the training before the program begins, you may receive an unconditional offer of admission!
If your program has specific requirements, an email with the necessary forms will be sent to you (Registration Package). Consult the Student Forms for more information.
Registration
It is important to confirm your offer as soon as possible in order to reserve your spot. You must do this from the OCAS/SACO website. See the “Admission and Registration Process” under the Office of Admissions and Registrar.

We will send you email correspondence for next steps. Please check the email you used to apply regularly. Details about the registration process and fee payment will be sent to you by mid-May. In the meantime, it is recommended that you :
- submit your application for financial assistance to OSAP (if applicable)
- Complete your scholarship application (if applicable);
- begin your search for housing (if applicable); and
- contact the College’s recruitment team to arrange a tour of your campus.
Your student number is on all correspondence (letters). If you can’t find it, send an email to registrariat@collegeboreal.ca.

International applicants must provide a Designated Educational Institution (DEI) number on their application for a study permit.

The application for admission is valid for one academic year only and cannot be carried over to the next year. Contact the Office of Admissions and Registrar to discuss further.
