Collège Boréal Celebrates Staff Excellence
Nearly 1,500 staff members from across the province were invited yesterday, either in person or remotely, to celebrate the achievements of 2025–2026. The event highlighted excellence across all staff categories, recognized years of service, and honoured retiring staff members. During the event, Boréal’s senior leadership also presented the achievements of the past year — bringing Boréal’s 30th anniversary celebrations to a close — before sharing its outlook for the year ahead.
Collège Boréal Excellence Awards
Full-Time Support Staff: Éric Gélinas
Éric Gélinas plays an essential, though often behind-the-scenes, role in the smooth operation of Collège Boréal. An experienced developer, he designs foundational technology solutions, including the College’s employment services application (ECAP) and a real-time transaction environment. These achievements directly support service efficiency and the experience of Boréal’s various client groups. Through his constant dedication, innovative spirit, and ability to collaborate, he brings the College’s values to life and makes a tangible contribution to its reputation.
Part-Time Support Staff: Claudette Goulard
Claudette Goulard stands out for her steadfast commitment and essential contribution to the smooth operation of Collège Boréal. Through her people-centred approach, professionalism, and willingness to help, she provides valuable support to the college community and helps foster a welcoming, inclusive environment, whether through her work with Marketing and Liaison or during graduation ceremonies. Recognized for her team spirit, positive leadership, and ability to address challenges effectively, she makes a significant contribution to the quality of the Boréal experience.
Full-Time Academic Staff: Debbie-Anne Coutu and Sylvie Martelli
A motivating leader, Debbie-Anne Coutu plays a key role in the success of the Dental Hygiene program, where she teaches and serves as coordinator. She fosters a collaborative culture in which every staff member has a place. Her sustained commitment to recruitment, development, and promotion contributes to the program’s growth and quality. Valued for her people-centred approach and collaborative leadership, she actively supports student success and the vitality of the dental hygiene field.
Sylvie Martelli embodies excellence in action. Through her commitment and rigour, she helps enhance the quality of teaching and raise the profile of the Social Service Worker program, where she teaches and also serves as coordinator. Always ready to listen, she supports her colleagues and maintains strong community partnerships. Her inspiring leadership and collaborative spirit create an environment that promotes student success. She is a respected leader who advances her program and strengthens its reputation.
Part-Time Academic Staff: Luc Lachance
Versatile and committed, Luc Lachance makes an essential contribution to several areas of Collège Boréal. Whether in post-secondary teaching, apprenticeship or applied research, he steps up whenever needed and readily adapts to changing needs. His initiative and ability to mobilize others foster a dynamic, constructive environment. Through his hands-on involvement, including his work with the carpentry programs and his participation in the Skills Ontario Competition, he enriches our students’ experience and strengthens the connections between training, research, and labour market realities.
Administrative Staff: Daniel St-Louis
In Ottawa, Daniel St-Louis brings a clear vision that shapes Collège Boréal’s development. His strategic leadership, both people-centred and engaging, enables large-scale projects to be carried out, including the expansion of our Ottawa campus and its program offerings. He creates conditions that foster team engagement and stronger partnerships, including with Saint Paul University and the YMCA of the National Capital Region. The result is a campus firmly rooted in its community and confidently focused on the future, supported by meaningful initiatives and lasting collaborations.
