Do you need a copy of your official transcript?

Official transcripts

An official transcript is an official document containing the seal and signature of the Registrar. It may be required when applying for admission to another post-secondary institution or when applying for a job.

You can request a transcript by completing the BAR-017 Form. There is a service fee to produce transcripts.

Transcripts are usually sent directly to the recipient since, to be considered official, the envelope containing the transcript cannot be opened.

If you owe tuition or ancillary fees, the transcript will not be produced or sent until these are paid in full.

Please allow approximately five ( 5 ) working days in normal times and ten (10) working days in peak periods for your transcript to be processed following receipt of your request and payment of the fee, depending on circumstances. If your transcript is mailed to your employer or an institution, you must then allow time for delivery.

If you require your transcript to be translated, the College offers this service, but the turnaround time is longer; typically, seven ( 7 ) business days in normal times and twelve (12) business days in peak periods.

If you have any questions regarding your transcript and to pay your service fees, please contact the Admissions Office and Registrar at registrariat@collegeboreal.ca or 705-560-6673 (1-800-361-6673), ext. 2180.

Unofficial transcripts

An unofficial transcript reflects your academic record at the point that you request it. It cannot be used as an official transcript as it does not bear the Registrar’s signature nor the official seal, and is not printed on security paper. Transcripts that are handled by a student may not be considered official as they are subject to tampering.

Unofficial transcripts can be accessed free of charge through the student portal should you want to review or share your grades.
