Collège Boréal officially opens its Ottawa site on the campus of Saint Paul University

21 November 2019

Our animal friends are in good hands in Ottawa. Since the start of 2019 academic year, Saint Paul University welcomes students enrolled in Collège Boréal’s Veterinary Care Technician program.

A partnership between these two Francophone institutions of higher learning allows Collège Boréal to continue to offer a unique program in French Ontario, which had been offered on its Alfred campus since 2000.

A stronger learning environment for the Veterinary Care Technician program

The Veterinary Care Technician program’s relocation in Ottawa brings fresh momentum to the program. Collège Boréal has invested $100,000 in the latest learning equipment, which has been provided to the Ottawa Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital. Boréal students can access this institution to do their practical work and consult with specialists on site.

The Veterinary Care Technician program is a two-year program that provides students with the skills they need to support animal health professionals. Its highly qualified and innovative graduates develop a keen sense of animal welfare.

Following the closing of the Alfred Campus, it was vital for us to ensure the continuation of this well established program in the Ottawa area. We are honoured to be welcomed by Saint Paul University. We will live up to the trust that they have placed in our college and their reputation for excellence.
We are happy to welcome a Francophone organization that shares our values, as we have also welcomed the ACUFC, Société Santé en français and the RGA, thus creating a Francophone hub.
The Ottawa Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital is always looking for new young talents to provide everyday support to our experts. We recognize the quality of Collège Boréal’s Veterinary Care Technician program and we appreciate its members for their high technical skills and their philosophy of animal welfare.
