Collège Boréal appoints Dènik Dorval as Director of its Hearst and Kapuskasing campuses

A native of Hearst, this experienced manager will further Boréal’s commitment to student success and the development of Francophone communities across Northern Ontario.

Proud Franco-Ontarian and Hearst native, Dènik Dorval joins Collège Boréal with nearly ten years of experience in management and community development. Recognized for his collaborative leadership style and strategic vision, he has built a diverse expertise spanning healthcare, entrepreneurship, community services, cultural development, economic development, and tourism.

Before joining Collège Boréal, Dènik Dorval served as Program Manager at the Centre de santé communautaire de Kapuskasing et région. Throughout his career, he has also held leadership and management positions with the Centre régional de Loisirs culturels, the Municipality of Moonbeam, the Association canadienne-française de l’Ontario (ACFO Ottawa), and Impact ON. This range of experience has enabled him to develop strong expertise in team leadership, partnership development, strategic planning, and the management of high-impact projects.

Holding a bachelor’s degree from Université de Hearst and a graduate diploma in Non-Profit Management from Saint Paul University, Dènik Dorval will leverage his skills to advance Collège Boréal’s presence and impact across Northern Ontario. As Director of the Hearst and Kapuskasing campuses, his mandate includes strengthening local partnerships, supporting student success, and contributing to the development of Francophone communities throughout the region.

On August 17, Dènik Dorval will take over from Michelle Lebel, who retired from Collège Boréal after 16 years of loyal service.

We are delighted to welcome Dènik Dorval as Director of our Hearst and Kapuskasing campuses. The breadth of experience he brings to Boréal, particularly in strategic planning, project management, and community development, will be a tremendous asset as we continue enhancing the services our institution provides to the many audiences we serve.
