Programme général d’arts et sciences
Le Programme général d’arts et sciences du Collège Boréal offre une éducation polyvalente en mettant l’accent sur le développement des compétences en communication, en pensée critique et en résolution de problèmes, préparant ainsi les étudiantes et étudiants à poursuivre des études supérieures ou à intégrer le marché du travail dans divers domaines. Il propose une variété de cours dans des disciplines telles que les sciences sociales, les sciences naturelles, les langues et les arts, fournissant ainsi une base solide pour le développement scolaire et professionnel.

Ce programme est conçu pour les personnes qui désirent explorer divers domaines, tout en leur permettant d’acquérir une formation collégiale générale. Il permet aux étudiantes et étudiants de profiter d’une période de préparation et d’introduction à de nombreux domaines et concepts en vue de choisir une spécialisation ou d’obtenir une formation faite sur mesure qui répond à leurs besoins spécifiques. En effet, les cours peuvent être choisis parmi une vaste sélection de cours actuellement offerts dans les plus de 70 programmes au Collège Boréal. À chaque étape, l’étudiante ou l’étudiant rencontre le responsable du programme et indique, à la lumière de ses objectifs de carrière, ses prochains choix de cours.

Dans ce cours, la personne étudiante aura l’occasion de développer ses compétences en communication écrite et orale en français dans des contextes professionnels et scolaires, tout en s’adaptant au contexte de communication et au public cible. L’accent sera mis sur la concision, la précision et l’organisation ainsi que sur l’amélioration des productions dans le but de convaincre et d’informer. La personne étudiante sera également encouragée à promouvoir la francophonie et à
s’affirmer en tant que francophone.

This integrated-skills course is designed for French-speaking students to develop basic reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for everyday life in a college environment. The course focuses on the building blocks of clear communication in routine, face-to-face campus situations such as giving personal information, asking for help, and understanding simple instructions. Through engaging activities, hands-on practice, and active participation, students will enhance their ability to convey simple ideas and respond to both spoken and written material with confidence and clarity. They will also strengthen their skills in interpreting predictable written and spoken content relevant to college life. Students will learn to participate effectively in pair and group activities in settings such as introductions, small talk, and brief class discussions. By the end of the course, they will be able to communicate simple information and ideas in everyday college situations—both in writing and speaking—and will have gained confidence in understanding and responding to basic spoken and written English.
This integrated-skills course is designed for French-speaking students to develop high-beginner reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for basic academic and workplace tasks. The course focuses on building clear communication in predictable, face-to-face contexts, writing short, accurate sentences, as well as level-appropriate listening and reading comprehension strategies. Through engaging activities, hands-on practice, and active participation, students will enhance their ability to convey simple ideas in familiar situations and respond to brief spoken and written material with confidence and clarity. They will also develop the skills to interpret short, predictable texts and announcements. Students will learn skills related to participating in pair and group activities such as introducing classmates, discussing study habits, or planning a simple project. By the end of the course, students will be able to write and speak in short, accurate sentences, understand brief instructions, and communicate basic information clearly in routine academic or workplace settings, gaining confidence in their listening and reading abilities.
This integrated-skills course is designed for French-speaking students to develop low-intermediate reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for academic and workplace success. The course will build clear communication in mostly predictable, face-to-face and basic non-face-to-face contexts, strengthen short, accurate written communication and introduce basic self-editing skills, as well as level-appropriate listening and reading comprehension strategies. Through engaging activities, hands-on practice, and active participation, students will enhance their ability to convey simple ideas and short explanations and respond to both spoken and written material with confidence and clarity. They will also develop the skills to interpret somewhat less predictable but familiar written and spoken content. Students will enhance their ability to participate in pair and group activities and practise basic time-management and problem-solving language. By the end of the course, students will have improved their written and spoken communication with an emphasis on clarity and accuracy, while gaining confidence in their listening and reading abilities. Successful learners will be ready to progress toward English for Academic Purposes (EAP) studies at higher CLB levels.
This integrated-skills course is designed for French-speaking students to strengthen intermediate reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for academic and workplace success. Student practice clearer, more detailed communication in predictable and slightly less predictable situations. The course builds accuracy in short, organized texts and basic self-editing. Through hands-on tasks and active participation, students learn to express connected ideas, give short explanations, and respond to level appropriate spoken and written material. They also use strategies to interpret familiar content with slightly more detail and variation. By the end, students communicate with greater clarity, accuracy, and independence while preparing for higher CLB levels.
This integrated-skills English course builds on competencies developed in ESL 1003, advancing students’ intermediate reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for academic and workplace success. Students practice language skills in hands‑on tasks and take part in short, goal‑focused discussions. They gain confidence sharing ideas, giving explanations, and using connected sentences. They read and listen to level‑appropriate texts and use strategies such as context clues and simple patterns to understand details. Writing activities focus on enhanced organized paragraphs and editing. By the end of the course, students demonstrate clearer, more detailed and more accurate communication across all skill areas.
