Collège Boréal Shines at the Reconnect and SIMaginate Symposium at Canadore College

Dedicated to innovation in health simulation, the event brought together professionals, educators, and partners from postsecondary institutions and healthcare organizations across Ontario.
Collège Boréal’s Outstanding Participation
Of all the institutions represented, Collège Boréal stood out as the most actively involved, with sixteen team members in attendance and three of the seven workshops led by our team. This strong presence highlights our leadership in healthcare simulation and our ability to deliver immersive, innovative, and inclusive teaching approaches.
Workshops presented by Collège Boréal included:
- Mission Health / Mission Santé: An escape-room-style activity promoting interprofessional collaboration while teaching medical terminology.
- Healthcare Simulation for Healing through ReconciliACTION: A session focused on incorporating the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission into simulation-based education.
- Simulation Rewind: An interactive demonstration of learning through repetition and feedback, featuring bilingual content.
Successful Regional Collaboration
The symposium also provided an opportunity to strengthen ties among partner institutions, including hospitals in Timmins and Sudbury, SIM Canada, Canadore College, and other training and healthcare organizations. CNFS – Collège Boréal played a key role as a member of the event’s planning committee and sponsored the participant lunch, helping create a valuable networking opportunity.
