An Immersive Day in Health Sciences at Collège Boréal
18 November 2024

On November 18, 2024, École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Marguerite-d’Youville visited Collège Boréal for an immersive day in the world of health sciences. We had the pleasure of hosting them and providing an enriching experience through interactive and engaging workshops.
On the agenda:
- Medical Radiation Technology
- Identify different injuries on X-ray images and locate them on a skeleton.
- Learn how to position the patient correctly to obtain high-quality X-rays while ensuring comfort and safety.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Workshop
- Practise CPR on mannequins using the correct rhythm and technique.
- Perform the exercise in front of our simulated ambulance to better understand the paramedic environment and the importance of emergency response.
- Practical Nursing Interactive Activity
- Learn how to clean and dress wounds following health and safety precautions.
- Discover the importance of hand washing with a fun activity: after washing their hands, students place them under a special light to reveal any remaining germs. Who will be able to eliminate the most germs?
The event took place in a dynamic and engaging atmosphere, topped off with a friendly and delicious pizza lunch! It was a great opportunity to explore the college environment and learn more about careers in health sciences. It was a real success, and we may have discovered a few future healthcare professionals among these young visitors!
