Coronavirus: Collège Boréal temporarily suspends classes and certain services
As a preventive measure against the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Collège Boréal has decided to suspend face-to-face post-secondary education classes, continuing education courses and language training at all its campuses, from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20, inclusively. Other services are also affected.
The College remains open and Boréal staff members should continue to report to work as usual, unless they present symptoms.
These are purely preventive measures. No cases of COVID-19 have been detected at Collège Boréal. As this week was marked by an increased number of COVID-19 infections in Ontario and the rest of Canada, our priority is to protect our students, teachers and staff.
Impact on the academic calendar
Staff members are working to ensure the academic year continues normally. Our academic teams are working diligently to minimize the impact of these measures and to propose alternate delivery of instruction with the prospect – at this hypothetical stage – of a prolonged suspension of face-to-face classes.
Collège Boréal has been actively monitoring the development of the coronavirus pandemic since January and preparing to deal with it. All our decisions are made in accordance with the recommendations of federal, provincial and local authorities.
