Collège Boréal’s 2018-2019 Excellence Awards winners are announced

11 June 2019
On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, Collège Boréal presented its 2018-2019 Excellence Awards to staff members during its academic year closing-out assembly.

A dedicated and committed team

Excellence Awards are presented in four categories to Collège Boréal’s staff members who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work with students and clients, and in their contribution to Boréal’s strategic goals.

The recipients also convey Boréal’s corporate values on a daily basis: excellence, humanism, inclusion, innovation, and respect.

Five recipients

Exceptionally this year, five awards were handed out in the four categories – the award for support staff having been awarded to a computer service duo:

Support staff

  • Alain Groleau, Computer Systems Support Specialist

“Whether Alain is performing small daily tasks or working on large long-term projects, he continually shows an exemplary work ethic. Alain is an expert in his field, and he does not fear challenges that seem insurmountable. He has thus commanded the respect of his peers.”

  • Patrick Paquin, Computer Systems Support Specialist

“With great calm and independence, Patrick moves files forward. His dedication towards his work contributes to the amazing productivity of his team. Patrick is always positive, smiling, and collegial. He shares his good spirit and his laughs, while forever remaining professional and effective.”

Faculty

  • Veldret Léonard-Jetté, Practical Nursing Professor, and Personal Support Worker Program Coordinator

“Veldret shows unconditional commitment to the program. She is not afraid of work, and is continually reaching for perfection. Thanks to her initiative and her leadership, the Practical Nursing Program is thriving in the Timmins community, offering exceptional training.”

Temporary staff

  • Katelyn Robinson, Professor, Veterinary Care Technician Program

“Katelyn is a dedicated and worthy professor, who shows her passion for students and for all animals on a daily basis. Her positive attitude is contagious, and so is her zest for life. Katelyn is always ready to listen to her students, to encourage them, and to cheer them up. She is fully confident in their ability to succeed.”

Management staff

  • Rachelle Perreault-Léveillé, Human Resources Director

“With her calm composure, her thoughtful words, and her legendary smile, Rachelle has achieved an exceptional transition period for her services. Her professionalism and her expertise have allowed her to complete an astronomical to-do list, while showing amazing people skills.”

Devotion and years of service

Each year, these Excellence Awards also provide an opportunity to highlight the great devotion shown by Collège Boréal’s staff members and professors who have reached the symbolic milestones of 5, 10, 15, and 20 years of service with Collège Boréal. This year, we have thanked 43 individuals for their devotion to Collège Boréal.

Collège Boréal has also celebrated the years of service of 10 staff members who will retire during the year.

Through these Excellence Awards, Collège Boréal recognizes that its greatest strength lies with its dedicated teams. The action is collective, but the individual awards value the individual exemplary behaviors… the Boréal state of mind. That being said, congratulations to this year’s recipients.
