Collège Boréal presents its 2019-2020 Awards of Excellence to staff members
Collège Boréal presented its 2019-2020 Awards of Excellence to its staff at a meeting held Friday, June 12, 2020 to mark the end of the academic year.
Four categories of Awards for Excellence are presented to members of Collège Boréal’s staff who have shown exceptional commitment to their work and contributed to the achievement of the college’s strategic objectives.
The recipients of Awards of Excellence also uphold, day by day, the values that define their institution: excellence, humanism, respect, commitment and integrity.
A devoted and committed team
Awards of excellence are presented to staff members in the following categories: Support Staff, Academic Staff, Temporary Staff and Administrative Staff.
Support staff: Sophie Landry – research officer
“Sophie is attentive to detail and quality. She has greatly contributed to the development and improvement of processes in the Office of the Vice-President, Academic. College staff can count on her to research data and information that move projects forward and achieve strategic objectives.”
Academic staff: Paul Paiement – professor/coordinator, computer sciences
“Paul is devoted to his program and to the success of his students. Thanks to Paul, many students have found employment in the field of computers, including some who now work at Collège Boréal. Paul is known for his patience, friendliness, helpfulness and free spirit. Plus, he makes us laugh!”
Temporary staff: Mireille Blanchette – educational consultant
“Mireille has an inquiring mind and is always seeking to learn and improve. She has made significant contributions to the continuous improvement of areas of focus and program quality. Her successes are a reflection of her constant commitment to her work, regardless of the scope of the files or tasks she deals with.”
Administrative staff: Paulette Bonin – director of Support Services, Office of the Vice-President, Academic
“Paulette’s work is always impeccable and exceptional. When thinking of her, one word comes to mind for all of us: quality. Quality is not just an axis in the college’s strategic plan; it is part of our institution’s DNA at all levels. Every day, Paulette brings an exemplary contribution to achieving this objective.”
From success in professional integration to loyalty to the Boréal family
For the first time ever, the staff’s annual meeting was also an opportunity to celebrate the cohort of the New Teacher Induction Program established since 2008 by Collège Boréal’s Centre for Leadership and Academic Innovation. This two-year program for new teachers aims to facilitate their integration into the college through series of modules on educational strategies, practices and technologies.
At the other end of the career spectrum, the Awards of Excellence also recognize the loyalty of college staff and professors who have reached symbolic milestones of five, ten, fifteen and twenty years of service to Collège Boréal. This year, 43 people were recognized for their loyalty to the Boréal family. A special celebration will be held to recognize long-serving staff members who have been with the college team since the institution’s founding 25 years ago.
Collège Boréal also celebrated the many years of service of 11 staff members who will be retiring this year.
