Collège Boréal celebrates the success of more than 600 new graduates at its 29th graduation ceremonies

Collège Boréal is celebrating the excellence of its graduates from the Sudbury, West Nipissing, Ottawa, Toronto, and Windsor campuses at four ceremonies until June 11.

In addition to Boréal Online’s virtual campus, four events showcase our 2024 graduates from Sudbury, West Nipissing, Ottawa, Toronto, and Windsor. This fall, more ceremonies will be added to celebrate the achievements of students enrolled at the Timmins, Kapuskasing, and Hearst summer school campuses.

With parents, families, and friends in attendance, Collège Boréal President Daniel Giroux and senior staff will be handing out no fewer than 628 diplomas this spring.

Honorary diploma

This year, Collège Boréal is awarding entrepreneur Richard Kempler an honorary diploma in business and community services. Kempler, General Manager of the Fédération des gens d’affaires francophones de l’Ontario, has over 20 years of international experience in business management, notably in the cultural and professional services sectors. A graduate of the ESSEC Business School (Paris, France), he also headed the Franco-Fête and the Club canadien de Toronto.

Academic excellence and preparation for the job market

In keeping with its tradition of excellence, Collège Boréal distinguished itself this year by ranking 1^st in Ontario for graduate satisfaction and, for the 5^th time, taking the top spot for employer satisfaction. What’s more, Collège Boréal’s graduation rate is the second highest of the province’s 24 colleges.

Governor General’s Academic Medal

The Governor General’s Academic Medal was awarded to Amélie Gosselin from Boréal Online’s Social Services Worker program. This distinction is given to a full-time student with the highest average in a minimum two-year diploma program.

Collège Boréal Foundation

Thanks to the generosity of individuals and agencies that supported the Collège Boréal Foundation in 2023-2024, close to 2,000 scholarships, worth over $1.4 million, were awarded to Collège Boréal students.

Collège Boréal President’s Award and Board Chair Award

Respectively presented to private and community organizations, Collège Boréal’s President’s Award and Board Chair Award recognize outstanding contributions to the development of the institution and its community.

This year, the President’s Award goes to Leisure Farms for its active participation in the college’s research projects, its contribution to the advisory committees of the institution’s forestry and wildlife programs, and its regular hosting of students for internships or environmental awareness activities.

The Board Chair Award is presented to Sudbury’s Cooperative Funeral Home, whose collaboration dates back to the founding of the college, and thanks to which our funeral service students benefit from internship opportunities and lab exercises. For nearly 30 years, each general manager of this cooperative has sat on the advisory committees of Boréal’s funeral care programs.

Each year’s graduation season is a unique opportunity to celebrate our talented graduates, whose skills and energy help enrich so many communities. Their trust in Collège Boréal in fields as varied as health, trades, environment, technology, business, and community services is a strong statement to which we are indebted. It encourages us to aim ever higher for the professional integration and personal fulfillment of future generations.
