Celebrating excellence across Ontario at Collège Boréal’s Fall graduation ceremonies

Collège Boréal is celebrating its graduates from Hamilton, Hearst, Kapuskasing, London, West Nipissing, Ottawa, Sudbury, Timmins, Toronto, and Windsor, with six ceremonies wrapping up on October 29.

In addition to a Boréal Online ceremony, six events will take place to honour the College’s Fall 2024 graduating class. With nearly 900 graduates this year, Boréal’s senior management and staff celebrate the perseverance and achievements of these newly skilled professionals, who will contribute to the economic development and vitality of their communities.

For me, graduation ceremonies are special occasions where we, along with their families and loved ones, celebrate the dedication and talent of Boréal graduates. With their cutting-edge technical skills and increasingly diverse cultural backgrounds, these newly qualified bilingual workers significantly enrich our communities and address labour shortages in key sectors such as healthcare, early childhood education, and construction.
It’s always a great source of pride and satisfaction to see our students flourish at graduation. Every Boréal graduate owes their success first and foremost to their hard work and pursuit of excellence, but also to the dedication of a team that takes their personal and professional accomplishments to heart. Congratulations to everyone!

Last June, Collège Boréal awarded an honorary diploma in business and community services to entrepreneur Richard Kempler. Kempler, General Manager of the Fédération des gens d’affaires francophones de l’Ontario, has over 20 years of international business management experience, particularly in the cultural and professional services sectors. A graduate of ESSEC Business School (Paris, France), he has also led Franco-Fête and the Club canadien de Toronto.

Additionally, the Board Chair Award was presented to Sudbury’s Cooperative Funeral Home. A partner since the College’s founding, this cooperative provides Boréal’s funeral services students with internships and practical lab experiences. For nearly 30 years, each general manager of this cooperative has served on the advisory committees for Boréal’s funeral care programs.

The President’s Award was given to Leisure Farms for its active involvement in Boréal’s research projects, participation on advisory committees for the forestry and wildlife programs, and its ongoing support in hosting students for internships and environmental awareness activities.

Collège Boréal’s President’s Award and Board Chair Award, respectively given to private and community organizations, honour outstanding contributions to the development of the institution and its community.
