A partnership that gives back to its community
Collège Boréal and Cambrian College are proud to partner with local businesses to sell trailers made by students from their trade programs, who were able to put their knowledge into practice. This project is in keeping with the philosophy of both colleges, who believe in the importance of experiential learning and providing opportunities for exchange with local entrepreneurs.
Second year welding students from both institutions each fabricated and assembled a trailer while first year students from the programs completed the welding. As a result, two beautiful trailers are now for sale and can be viewed in the parking lot of Sudbury Steel at 112 Fielding Street in Lively.
Giving back
This partnership not only gave students opportunities to work on an exciting project, putting their skills to the test but it is also a way of giving back to the community. Half of the proceeds from the sale of the two trailers will be donated to the Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury. The other half of the proceeds will be divided equally between the two colleges’ foundations, which will create scholarships for future students.
