Course Description
This course is rooted in relational practice to prepare you to be a registered nurse and develop your skills as a communicator, leader, collaborator and advocate. The course covers the cognitive, emotional and behavioural dimensions of relational practice, incorporating theory, critical reflection and lived experience of relational practice with different types of patients in complex health care environments. You will have the opportunity to:
- Engage in structured reflection
- Leverage communication skills
- Manage conflicts
- Demonstrate leadership and advocacy skills
- Make decisions that consider social, cultural and legal variables and foster relationship building in a collaborative interprofessional practice
