Participants in this 8-hour, in-class course will learn crucial safety protocols for hoisting and rigging materials, including Ontario’s occupational health and safety legislation and PPE usage. Completion of the course ensures participants are equipped with essential knowledge and skills to address workplace hazards, with a minimum passing grade of 70% required.

About the Training

This course is designed to identify the dangers of hoisting and rigging materials to elevated heights and the necessary steps and proper equipment selection to ensure worker safety.

Outlining the hazards found on many Ontario work sites, key areas of study include:

  • Occupational health and safety legislation
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment
  • Safe operation of an overhead crane and other lifting devices
  • Types of rigging attachments and slings

This training offers theoretical and practical components to ensure participants have the necessary knowledge and skills in the workplace. To successfully complete the course, participants will require a minimum passing grade of 70%.
