Awareness of Specialized Needs in Early Learning

In this course, students will develop their understanding of the role played by early childhood education specialists when working with children with special needs. The course will introduce students to basic concepts and theories on children with special needs and the role played by attentive, compassionate relationships and their environment. This course also explores the educator’s professional confidence and role in early detection, supporting families, navigating sensitive conversations, networking and sharing resources related to children with special needs.
