This program provides comprehensive training in both the theoretical and practical aspects of Spanish. Its goal is to improve oral and written comprehension and expression skills by immersing you in the culture, history, and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. Covered topics include music, literature, business, and current affairs, with a focus on communication and hands-on learning suitable for real-life situations. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced learner, this program caters to all proficiency levels. By the end of the program, you’ll be able to communicate confidently in various contexts and express ideas clearly and accurately.

Level Descriptions

ESP1002 – Spanish – Beginner I

In this course, students learn basic vocabulary and grammar needed to communicate ideas clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing, in familiar, everyday situations.

ESP1003 – Spanish – Beginner II

In this course, students continue to learn basic vocabulary and grammar needed to communicate ideas clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing, in familiar, everyday situations. It also enables students to deepen their knowledge of the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.

ESP1004 – Spanish – Intermediate I

In this course, students continue to learn the vocabulary and grammar needed to communicate ideas clearly and precisely, both orally and in writing, in familiar, everyday situations. It also provides the opportunity to study various texts, including newspaper articles, folktales, and legends, and to deepen knowledge of the various cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.

ESP1005 – Spanish – Intermediate II

This course enables students to enhance their knowledge of Spanish and improve their communication skills by using an increasingly advanced level of language in a variety of activities to express ideas effectively and precisely, both orally and in writing. Students will also continue to explore cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries.

ESP1006 – Spanish – Advanced I

This course enables students to deepen their knowledge of Spanish and improve their communication skills by using an increasingly advanced level of language in a variety of activities to express ideas effectively and precisely, both orally and in writing. Students also develop their Spanish thinking skills through a critical approach to literature and continue to explore cultural aspects of Spanish-speaking countries.

ESP1007 – Spanish – Advanced II

This course enables students to deepen their knowledge of Spanish and develop the skills to use the language effectively, precisely and confidently. They will engage in conversations, comprehend and assess information, read various types of documents and writing clear texts. They will also gain a deeper understanding of the culture of Spanish-speaking countries.

ESP1008 – Spanish Language and Culture

In this course, students demonstrate their knowledge of various aspects of the language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries through exercises and research projects. It emphasizes the use of vocabulary and linguistic structures to communicate ideas clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.

ESP1009 – Spanish Conversation

In this course, students develop their oral communication skills, focusing on pronunciation, intonation, and the correct use of linguistic and lexical structures to express opinions and ideas in both formal and informal everyday conversations.

EDP1379 – Spanish – Basics for Travel

This course enables students to learn the basic vocabulary and grammar needed to communicate clearly and accurately when travelling in Spanish-speaking countries (e.g., greetings, means of transport, directions, restaurants, accommodation, shopping, excursions, health).
