Support and Inclusion

Collège Boréal is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment that guides all its initiatives. The College’s goal is to recognize and value each individual while addressing diverse needs to help everyone reach their full potential.

Staff Wellness

This resource is designed to raise awareness among individuals studying or working in the field of human resources.

It includes seven modules that highlight best practices for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of staff through a holistic approach. Each module features key information, reflection questions, examples, and practical activities to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of disability management strategies.

Intercultural Skills

Collège Boréal values the diversity of its staff and student body.

It acknowledges the behaviours, knowledge, and attitudes that support respectful and effective collaboration among people from different cultural backgrounds. As such, it encourages the development of intercultural skills, including communication and cultural exchange in the classroom.

Universal Design

Universal design means proactively planning courses so that they are pedagogically accessible to everyone, regardless of their learning style or physical and sensory abilities. Rather than multiplying individual accommodations, this approach allows educators to meet a wide range of needs through a collective approach to course design.

The College promotes universal design as a promising solution to meet these challenges and create an inclusive classroom environment.

Explore the principles of universal design and instructional strategies that provide flexible solutions for a variety of needs:

  • Universal design: An introduction to the concept and its importance
  • The nine principles of universal accessibility in education: Foundations of inclusive teaching
  • In-class applications: Tips for integrating these principles into daily teaching practice
  • Supporting students with ADHD: Adapted strategies to meet their specific learning needs

Language Support

The College places strong emphasis on the quality of French in all professional communications.

Antidote: A powerful tool for better writing

As a francophone postsecondary institution, the College provides its staff and students with the bilingual version of Antidote on all institutional computers. This tool helps enhance the quality of writing and improve writing practices.

  • Seamless integration: Antidote works directly with browsers (Chrome, Edge, etc.), allowing you to proofread your work on platforms like Brightspace and file-sharing tools. It also integrates with most commonly used programs like Word and Outlook.
  • Bilingual version: With a corrector and dictionaries in both French and English, Antidote automatically detects the language and tailors its suggestions to the context.
  • Built-in resources: Easily access tools like Termium, Google, and the Grand dictionnaire terminologique to enhance and refine your writing.

Antidote training

CLIP offers training sessions to help staff take full advantage of Antidote’s features and integrate them into their daily work.

Antidote: More than just a proofreader – a powerful ally in your professional communications!
